Sift the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda together into a large bowl.
Beat the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes (use the paddle attachment for a stand mixer). Beat in the eggs one at a time, then beat in the vanilla. Reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the flour mixture and beat until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dough and refrigerate at least 1 hour or preferably overnight.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the middle, about 12 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven and let cool 10 minutes on the baking sheets, then transfer to racks to cool completely.
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, positioning one of the oven racks in the middle of the oven.
Using an electric mixer, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla on medium speed until smooth. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Turn the electric mixer to low and slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.
With a 1-ounce ice cream scoop, drop the batter about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake until lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Carefully remove the cookies to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container.
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
Beat the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium-high speed in a large bowl until well combined, about 2 minutes. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until light in color, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the flour mixture and mix on low speed until well incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand using a rubber spatula.
Using a small scoop or tablespoon, drop level tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. (You should be able to fit about a dozen cookies.) Bake until golden around the edges and soft-set in the centers, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, and then remove to a rack to cool completely. Repeat with the remaining dough, baking 3 batches total. Store the dough in the refrigerator between batches

Potato Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the vanilla and eggs and beat on medium speed until just combined. Add the flour, baking soda and salt, then mix on low speed until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and 2 cups of the crushed potato chips. Put the remaining 2 cups crushed potato chips in a shallow bowl.
Roll the dough into 2-inch balls, then roll them in the remaining potato chips so they are completely coated. Place the cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets and bake until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.Ingredients

Chocolate Chip Pancakes
How to make this recipe:
In a small saucepan, combine the butter and milk. Place over low heat just until warm and the butter is melted. Let cool slightly. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork. Whisk in the milk mixture. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until barely blended. Add the chocolate chips and mix.
Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Add about 1 teaspoon of butter and melt until bubbly. Ladle 3 tablespoons of batter for each pancake onto the hot surface and cook until bubbly on the top and golden brown on the bottom. Turn and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 30 seconds more. Repeat until all the batter is used up. Serve hot.

1 1/4 cups flour

Melt the butter in a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Whisk the butter into the milk mixture. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and whisk until a thick batter is just formed.
Keeping the skillet at medium heat, ladle about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet, to make a pancake. Make 1 or 2 more pancakes, taking care to keep them evenly spaced apart. Cook, until bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, and the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip with a spatula and cook about 1 minute more on the second side. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
Procedure for adding fruit to pancakes: Once the bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, scatter the surface with sliced or diced fruit, or chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Flip with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more, being careful not to burn toppings.
